Penn State Wrestling Releases Full 2022-23 Schedule

Dominance is returning soon, folks.

Penn State wrestling’s season will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 11, against Lock Haven in the squad’s home opener at Rec Hall.

The Nittany Lions will then travel to West Point for the Black Knight Open on November 20 before they travel the following weekend to Rider on December 2 and Lehigh on December 4.

Penn State will return home to host Oregon State on December 11. Then, Penn State will go down to Louisiana to compete in the Collegiate Wrestling Duals from December 19 to 20.

The Big Ten slate begins shortly after when the Nittany Lions go to Wisconsin for a dual on January 6. Here is the complete conference schedule:

  • Penn State @ Wisconsin — Friday, January 6
  • Michigan @ Penn State — Friday, January 20
  • Michigan State @ Penn State — Sunday, January 22
  • Iowa @ Penn State — Friday, January 27
  • Penn State @ Ohio State — Friday, February 3
  • Penn State @ Indiana — Sunday, February 5
  • Penn State @ Rutgers — Friday, February 10
  • Maryland @ Penn State — Sunday, February 12

The Nittany Lions will then face Clarion to round out their regular-season schedule on February 19.

This year, the team has the opportunity to play in the Bryce Jordan Center twice — against both Michigan on January 20 and Iowa on January 27. Those duals will be the first time that Cael Sanderson and the squad have been able to hold two regular-season duals in the BJC.

To begin the postseason, Penn State will dual it out against the entire conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for the Big Ten Championship on March 4-5. Last year, the Nittany Lions lost the team award by just 5.5 points, but Roman Bravo-Young, Nick Lee, Carter Starocci, and Max Dean all took home titles in their respective brackets.

Finally, Penn State will travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the NCAA Championships from March 16 to 18. The team will be defending its title as it took home first place with an astounding 131.5 points, as well as five individual titles from Bravo-Young, Lee, Starocci, Dean, and Aaron Brooks.
