Micah Parsons Named NFC Defensive Player Of The Week

Former Penn State linebacker and current Dallas Cowboy Micah Parsons is the NFC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced Wednesday morning.

Parsons earned the award after dominating against the Los Angeles Rams during the Cowboys’ 22-10 win this past Sunday. During the game, Parsons totaled five tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble that Dallas recovered to end the game.

This is the second NFC Defensive Player of the Week award for Parsons, the previous being won during week five of the 2021 season against the Minnesota Vikings. Parsons has already cemented himself as one of the best defensive players in the league in just his second NFL season.

With the two sacks, Parsons increased his 2022 season sack total to six, putting him in a four-way tie for first place in the NFL. This was also Parsons’ third multi-sack game so far this season. Parsons has become the no-doubt leader of the Cowboys’ defense, leading the team in sacks, tackles for loss, and forced fumbles.

Due to this dominant play, Parsons has jumped to the top odds to win the 2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, according to many betting outlets.

Parsons will try to continue his dominance when the Cowboys travel to Philadelphia this weekend to take on the Eagles at 8 p.m. on Sunday Night Football.
