[Photo Story] Homecoming 2022 ‘For The Glory’ Talent Show

Home is where the heart is, and Tuesday night, home was in Schwab Auditorium. Dance troupes, THON organizations, and a cappella groups all performed for a packed audience as part of Homecoming 2022’s For The Glory talent show.

This year’s Homecoming court was also in attendance to support those competing. Let’s take a look at the talent show through our lens.

As the night began, we were introduced to our emcees and the first talent group of the night, “Tapestry”, which is a tap dance group that portrayed “The Wizard of Oz.”

Four a cappella groups performed over the course of the night. From all-girl and all-boys to co-ed, they all impressed the judges.

Dance groups Orchesis, Rêve, and Volé all performed beautiful pieces, too.

There were even some unique groups like KMPD that danced to a K-Pop song and Atlas that did a compilation of country songs including “Cotton-Eyed Joe.”

Other groups showed off their high kicks!

Another group showcased its Irish dancing talent. It even honored Penn State, starting with “Zombie Nation” and a rousing “We Are” chant.

To close off the night, Urban Dance Troupe was the last group to perform. While the judges decided on the winner, the 2022 Homecoming court performed for the audience with some small group dances. Lastly, Whiplash, the winner of the Allen Street Jam dance competition on Monday, performed to conclude the show.

The top three winners were announced and first place was awarded to Urban Dance Troupe. It took a group picture at the end with winning smiles, as it punched its ticket to perform on stage at THON 2023.
