Penn State Football Opens As 15-Point Underdog Against Ohio State

After a dominant White Out win over Minnesota, No. 13 Penn State football is now tasked with taking on a Big Ten giant in No. 2 Ohio State.

The opening line for Saturday’s matchup is set at 15 points in Ohio State’s favor, according to OddsShark. Additionally, the Big Noon Kickoff bout’s over/under is clipped at 61.5 points.

In James Franklin’s squad’s latest battle against Minnesota, the Nittany Lions covered the spread comfortability. Through seven games, Penn State now sits at 4-3 against the spread this season, with Saturday’s showing snapping a three-game skid in that department. Thanks to quarterback Sean Clifford’s four-touchdown performance, the game also marked the second in a row where the Nittany Lions and their opponent combined to hit the over.

In their last 10 games against the Buckeyes, the Nittany Lions are 6-4 against the spread, and the over hit only four times in the same span. Overall, Ohio State has won nine of the last ten matchups against Penn State, with the blue and white’s last victory coming in 2016 after a 17-point fourth quarter led the Nittany Lions to a dramatic 24-21 triumph.

This season, Ohio State sports a 4-2-1 record against the spread and a 9-1 record on the road in its last 10 away matchups. Moreover, the Buckeyes have nailed the over in all but two games across the current campaign.

Penn State will square off against the Buckeyes at noon on Saturday, October 29, at Beaver Stadium. Kickoff from Happy Valley will air live on FOX.
