Former Penn State Men’s Hockey Star Evan Barratt Traded To Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers and the Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to a trade that will send former Penn State Men’s Hockey star Evan Barratt to the Flyers in exchange for defenseman Cooper Zech.

In his three seasons in Happy Valley, Barratt tallied 95 points in 98 career games. His streak of 11 consecutive games with a point during the 2018 season is a school record. In 2019, Barrett was a finalist for the Hobey Baker award while being named to the All-Big Ten First Team.

A third-round pick by the Blackhawks in 2017, Barratt registered 42 points in 92 games across three seasons for the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Barratt will report to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL.
