[Photo Story] Penn State vs. Rutgers

Knight Knight, Rutgers.

In case you missed it, the Nittany Lions dominated the Scarlet Knights 55-10 on a chilly Saturday in Piscataway. A slow start in frigid temperatures gave way to explosive scoop and scores, a house call, and more.

Our photographers made the trip to Piscataway to capture all of the action. Check out some our favorite photos below.

Penn State entered SHI Stadium to a chorus of cheers, boos, and a “F Penn State” chant from the Rutgers student section. We have to admit — the smoke machine and fireworks were a nice touch.

Piscataway, New Jersey, is a quick trip for Penn Staters from the PA, NJ, and NY areas. The blue and white faithful made their presence known in the stands. Members of the Blue Band, the cheerleading team, and even the Nittany Lion made the journey.

A pretty golden hour and sunset highlighted the first quarter.

Did someone say house call? Nick Singleton scored Penn State’s first points by returning a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, giving the Nittany Lion fans something to cheer for.

Kobe King then scooped up a fumble and took it to the house to lengthen Penn State’s lead.

The Nittany Lions just kept piling on the points.

The victory gave James Franklin his 100th career win as a head coach — 76 at Penn State and 24 at Vanderbilt.

SHI Stadium? More like Beaver Stadium East.
