Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Announces 2023 Schedule

It’s almost that time of year, folks.

Penn State men’s lacrosse announced its 2023 schedule on Friday, just under two months until the beginning of the season.

The Nittany Lions will open their season against Lafayette on Saturday, February 4, at Panzer Stadium. Penn State opened against Lafayette last season with a 20-15 victory at home.

Head coach Jeff Tambroni’s squad will also face two difficult Ivy League teams in 2023: Yale and Cornell. Both teams finished the 2022 season in the top 10 of the NCAA’s rankings.

The Nittany Lions will also face challenges in their Big Ten schedule. They will open conference play against defending Big Ten champion Maryland on March 25 in College Park. Of the six Big Ten teams that Penn State will battle, the team went 1-5 against those rosters in its meetings last season.

Below is the full 2023 schedule, with conference games marked with an asterisk.

  • February 4: vs. Lafayette
  • February 12: @ Villanova
  • February 18: vs. Stony Brook
  • February 25: @ Yale
  • March 4: vs. Penn
  • March 11: @ Cornell
  • March 18: @ Marquette
  • March 25: @ Maryland*
  • April 1: vs. Ohio State*
  • April 8: vs. Johns Hopkins*
  • April 15: @ Michigan*
  • April 23: vs. Rutgers*

Should Penn State advance into the postseason, the semifinals and finals of the Big Ten tournament will be hosted by Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland.
