Penn State Football Early Enrollees ‘Set The Standard’ On First Day Of Classes

Happy first week of classes, folks!

The beginning of the spring semester means the newest football early enrollees make their way to Happy Valley to kickstart their Penn State careers. It also means that it’s time for the new group to “set the standard.”

Ten early enrollees made their way around campus Monday morning for their first day of college classes, and the Brad Kraut “academic weapon” mentality was in full effect for the new Penn Staters.

Joey Schlaffer

Talk about detail, folks. We got the class, location, and a 20-minute early arrival time. Extra points for the relaxing forest wallpaper.

Jaxon Smolik

Jaxon Smolik took the tags a step further by adding offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich to the post. While this is also a classic example of “setting the standard,” you have to wonder why there were no retakes with Smolik’s finger clearly visible in the bottom-right corner.

Anthony Donkoh

Yes, it is exactly what it seems. While Anthony Donkoh stuck with the tradition and committed to posting for all to see, that is NOT the front row. It’s even so significant that head coach James Franklin had to chime in. Not the best look for Donkoh on day one, to say the least.

So, what are your thoughts on Donkoh’s idea of “setting the standard?”

Ta’Mere Robinson

Taking the prize for earliest arrival, Ta’Mere Robinson arrived 25 minutes before his 8 a.m. class. It seems as though he also put himself in a great position between the instructor and the projector, which allows for an optimal learning experience.

J’ven Williams

Perhaps the most impressive course of the day comes from J’ven Williams with Portuguese 1 on the schedule. With a class like that, Williams will surely need to pay attention to fill his foreign language requirement this semester.

Zion Tracy

Once again, it’s shocking to see another player NOT in the front row. Props for being 20 minutes early, but being in not just the second, but the third row, cancels that out.

Tony Rojas

The Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year made sure to lead by example in his post. While he may suffer from a sore neck due to looking at the board at a 90-degree angle, he’s sure to be focused in class.

Elliot Washington

This four-star early enrollee set out on his first day a classic 10 minutes early. With the odd three-desk front row seemingly two feet in front of the wall, we think opting for Washington’s particular seat was a win in this scenario.

Alex Birchmeier

Starting to round out first-day posts, Birchmeier coined the hashtag “The Standard.” Some extreme confidence from the offensive lineman shows that he doesn’t even need to “set the standard” — the standard is him.

Mega Barnwell

Despite being 15 minutes early, Barnwell still didn’t beat his professor to class. With plenty of luggage in tow, Barnwell is most likely going to have his hands full with this one.
