‘SPA Day’ To Take Over HUB January 20

Penn State’s Student Programming Association (SPA) will hold its annual SPA Day, which is a celebration of all the association has to offer to students at Penn State, on Friday, January 20. Events will take place throughout the day in and around the HUB.

The afternoon will feature several different activities throughout the HUB. At the Pollock Road entrance to the HUB, students can find a Zen Garden along with the chance to create custom street signs. Both of these events will start at 11 a.m. The Zen Garden will be up and running until 1 p.m., while the custom street signs will finish at 4 p.m. or until supplies run out.

On the first floor of the HUB, there will be a roaming photo booth from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Capping off the afternoon events at 1 p.m. will be a mechanical bull near the fish tanks on the ground floor. The bull will be available for use until 4 p.m.

The day will also have plenty of performances, which SPA is best known for. The organization will hold a noontime performance in HUB 008, as well as a lecture at 5:30 p.m. in Heritage Hall.

The highlight of the day, a concert including an opener and a headliner, will begin at 9 p.m. The concert will take place in Alumni Hall. The artists for all performances, as well as information about ticketing, will be announced “in the coming days.”
