SPA To Host ‘High School Musical’ Star Corbin Bleu For SPA Day

Time to “get’cha head in the game,” Penn State.

SPA will host “High School Musical” heartthrob Corbin Bleu for a moderated conversation at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, January 20, in the HUB’s Heritage Hall. Bleu’s lecture will be just one of the events hosted by SPA on its annual SPA Day.

While perhaps best known for his role as Chad Danforth in “High School Musical,” Bleu will discuss his career in the worlds of film, television, theater, songwriting, production, and mentorship, among others.

The multi-talented star has most recently spent time on Broadway with features in plays such as “Kiss Me, Kate,” “In the Heights,” “Hairspray,” and “Mamma Mia!” Bleu even won the Chita Rivera Award for Outstanding Male Dancer in a Broadway Show for his performance as Ted Hanover in the Tony-nominated “Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn.”

Bleu spends a lot of time now as the Chair of the National Advisory Board of the Looking Ahead Program, which helps young actors and performers navigate the unique difficulties that the entertainment industry presents.

Students must RSVP for the event to secure tickets, which will be available at 8 p.m. on January 17 through OrgCentral.

Bleu’s lecture is free for Penn State students and funded by their student-initiated fee.
