Happy Valley Comic & Collectibles Convention Set For February 25 & 26
The Happy Valley Comic and Collectibles Convention (HVC3) will return to State College on February 25 and 26 at the Nittany Valley Sports Centre. It’ll run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 26.
The event is set to have hundreds of tables for numerous categories that include comics, action figures, sports cards, Funko Pop!, anime, and more. Between two “Magic: The Gathering Tournaments” and three cosplay contests, convention-goers will have plenty to do at HVC3.
Convention coordinators Thomas and Maureen Range reworked HVC3, formerly called NittanyCon, with the help of their children after it went on pause due to the original organizer’s passing in 2017.
“Cosplayers want to be complimented,” Thomas Range told StateCollege.com. “Vendors want to make money. Artists want to show off their talents. Celebrities want to be recognized and celebrated. We just want to offer a new event that the community can come out and be a part of.”
Many celebrity guests will be in attendance, including “Farscape” actress Gigi Edgley, Carey Means and Dana Snyder of “Aqua Teen Hunger Force”, and Mike Ancas of “Day of the Dead”. HVC3 will also feature a number of comic artists, including Khoi Pham, Scott Hanna, Bob McLeod, and Kevin Conrad.
To ensure that students trying to attend the convention are able, HVC3 will provide a free shuttle bus to and from campus for the event. The bus will stop at East Halls every 30 minutes starting at 9:30 a.m. on both days and ending at 7 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday.
