Former Penn State Wideout Dan Chisena Signs Reserve/Future Contract With Steelers

Former Penn State wide receiver Dan Chisena is returning to the Keystone State.

Chisena has signed a reserve/future contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team announced Monday. Chisena, who was signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2020, previously spent parts of three seasons with Minnesota and totaled 11 tackles in a special teams role.

Chisena, a former walk-on, played two seasons with the Nittany Lions and appeared in 14 games in 2018 and 2019. He totaled 66 yards on three receptions and recovered one fumble throughout his two seasons under head coach James Franklin. Chisena was put on full scholarship during the 2019 Blue-White Game.

Chisena also competed for Penn State’s track and field team and helped the team clinch a Big Ten team championship in 2017. His move to track and field came after he redshirted for the football team in 2015. Evidently, he returned to football in 2018.

Per his reserve/future contract, Chisena will try to stick on the Steelers’ 53-man roster during this offseason and through training camp.
