University Libraries To Offer ‘Blind Date With A Book’ Through February

Who needs roses and chocolate on Valentine’s Day when you can go on a date with the perfect mystery man — or in this case, a mystery book?

Students can check out a specially wrapped book from the Pattee Library throughout the month of February. While a variety of fiction and nonfiction books are available, each book wrapping only has vague hints about its contents. Students may only unwrap their book after checking it out at the Lending Services desk.

“’Blind Date with a Book’ gives readers a great way to try something they never would have chosen otherwise, and that’s exactly where the fun is in the event,” Megan Gilpin, the University Libraries’ library learning services outreach coordinator, said.

Students are encouraged to post feedback about their “blind date” on Twitter after finishing their books, tagging @psulibs.

Questions regarding accommodations or physical access may be directed to Gilpin at [email protected].
