“After deep thought and consideration I’m playing this game because of my love for competition and the doors it can open for me and my family,” Cottrell wrote. “This is why I’ve decided to accept the opportunity to play at Penn State University!”

Cottrell played at Conwell Egan Catholic High School as a defensive end and a defensive tackle, according to his Twitter account. According to 247Sports, Temple and Saint Francis (PA) are the only schools that gave him offers.

In his Twitter bio, Cottrell lists himself as a two-time All-Catholic Honors recipient and a second-team All-Area honoree. To see what Cottrell will bring to Happy Valley, you can check out his Hudl account.
