The ‘Best Penn State Bars/Restaurants’ Bracket: Final Four

This is March April.

While the women’s NCAA Tournament has wrapped up with LSU as its champion and the men’s tournament is set to culminate tonight, we at Onward State are a little behind. After a star-studded Elite Eight in our “Best Penn State Bars/Restaurants” bracket, we’re onto the Final Four!

We have three No. 1 seeds and a No. 2 seed remaining, and you can vote to send your favorite bar to the finals by using this Google Form.

You can check out a quick recap of the Elite Eight and a brief preview of the Final Four below.

Final Four

No. 1-seeded Champs Downtown dominated Champs N. Atherton by garnering 79.2% of the vote. Doggie’s Pub, in a strikingly similar way, breezed by The Field with 79.1% of the vote. The two downtown powerhouses will now meet in the Final Four in what has the makings of a neck-and-neck battle.

In our only upset of the Elite Eight, The Phyrst upset No. 1-seeded Pickle’s in a really tight matchup. The Phyrst edged out Pickle’s by just 3.4% to advance to the Final Four. Lastly Cafe 210 West, unsurprisingly, cruised its way to the next round by earning 438 more votes than the Shandygaff. Cafe is undoubtedly the favorite to advance to the finals, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see The Phyrst put up a strong fight.

Happy voting, folks! We sleep in May.
