Visionary Visual Arts To Host ‘Dean’s List 2023’ Concert April 6

The student organization Visionary Visual Arts will host its annual “Dean’s List” concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, in Heritage Hall in the HUB.

“Dean’s List” is a chance for Penn State-based musicians to perform in front of a large audience. This year’s headliners are Scorey and yvngxchris, two popular upcoming rappers. Local artists Dwavy, Cheff, Swervo, and MB3 will take the stage at this year’s event, too.

Scorey has over 1.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify. The 24-year-old artist is mostly known for his usage of guitar-based beats. He released his debut album, “Help Is On The Way,” in 2022. Scorey was the first artist to sign to Polo G’s Capalot Records, in partnership with Columbia Records.

Yvngxchris has over 1.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He gained mainstream attention from his presence on TikTok and his viral song “Did You Know.” He has released several singles and projects and has scored a feature from Lil Yachty. Columbia Records signed yvngxchris in 2021.

Student tickets are being sold for $10, while non-student tickets are $20. Those interested can purchase tickets on Eventbrite. More information can be found on Visionary’s Instagram account.
