Four-Star Running Back Kiandrea Barker Commits To Penn State Football’s Class Of 2025

Well, that was fast.

Four-star running back Kiandrea Barker announced his verbal commitment to Penn State football’s Class of 2025 Sunday evening. Barker is the third player committed to the Class of 2025, joining four-star offensive lineman Jaelyne Matthews and defensive back Omari Gaines.

Barker’s decision comes just one day after an official visit to Happy Valley during the Nittany Lions’ annual Blue-White Game.

Barker selected Penn State over Pitt, Purdue, and Miami, among others. The Nittany Lions officially extended an offer to Barker back in April 2022.

From Woodlands High School in Texas, Barker is the ninth-best running back prospect in the country, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. Barker is also ranked as the No. 10 player in talent-rich Texas.

In recent years, Penn State has been red hot in its recruitment of top tier running backs. Over the last two classes alone, James Franklin has secured decisions from five-star Nick Singleton, four-star Kaytron Allen, and four-star London Montgomery, to name a few.

After securing Barker’s commitment, Penn State is now ranked No. 3 in the national rankings, according to 247Sports. While few programs have made much headway among 2025 recruits, the Nittany Lions only trail Georgia and Alabama.
