Penn State Men’s Lacrosse’s Stellar Teamwork Featured On SportsCenter

Although its season came to a close this past weekend, Penn State men’s lacrosse continues to make national headlines.

ESPN’s SportsCenter dubbed the Nittany Lions as one of “Saturday’s Best” and recognized head coach Jeff Tambroni’s team as the winners of the “Best Team Work” distinction.

In a total team effort, Penn State perfectly set up star attacker TJ Malone to net a slick goal in transition during the Nittany Lions’s NCAA Tournament semifinal contest with No. 1 Duke.

Penn State fell to Duke 16-15 in overtime by way of a controversial sudden victory goal by the Blue Devils but not without heroics from the blue and white. Malone concluded the game with six goals and eight other Nittany Lions found the back of the net in the Final Four matchup, too.

Tambroni’s group ended the season with an 11-5 record, a share of the Big Ten regular-season championship, and a deep run into the postseason.
