‘Penn State Halal Guys’ Opens On Calder Way

“Penn State Halal Guys” recently opened its doors at 417 E. Calder Way.

The restaurant, which held its grand opening on August 21, features an expansive menu utilizing exclusively halal ingredients.

Its menu includes salads, subs, pita sandwiches, rice specials, and more for $10 each. Customers can select from a variety of proteins, such as chicken, lamb, fish, shrimp, and falafel. The menu also offers several veggie options as well as fried items like chicken tenders and french fries. No meal is complete without dessert, and Penn State Halal Guys serves cheesecake and chocolate cake slices for $4.

The restaurant is open from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to midnight on Sundays. According to the menu, food will be available for delivery through Uber Eats, Grubhub, DoorDash, and RICEPO.

Penn State Halal Guys is one of many new restaurants downtown, including 8 Mile Pizza, Tasty K Korean Fried Chicken, and Coffee, Hemp & Tea. A new Dunkin’ location is expected to open at the former location of Starbucks on Garner Street, too.
