Micah Parsons Named NFC Defensive Player Of The Month

Former Penn State football linebacker and Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month Thursday.

Parsons wasted no time before making big plays to start his third year in the NFL and registered four sacks, 12 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and five tackles for loss through three games in 2023.

This is Parsons’ first time receiving the award, and he is the fourth-ever Cowboy to receive the honor. The last time a Cowboy was crowned Defensive Player of the Month was in September 2021 when teammate Trevon Diggs won it.

Parsons boasts just about every NFL accolade imaginable, including Defensive Rookie of the Year, two Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections, and now, September’s Defensive Player of the Month.

Parsons will continue his dominance in the Cowboys’ week-four outing against the New England Patriots at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday, October 1.
