Bryce Jordan Center Introduces ‘Just Walk Out’ Checkout-Free Concession Area

The Bryce Jordan Center announced it’s introducing Pick & Roll, a new checkout-free concession stand using Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology that allows customers to purchase select food and beverage items without waiting in line.

Just Walk Out technology uses artificial intelligence to monitor who takes what item in the concession area and charges it to the customer’s debit or credit card. Customers enter the concession area with a debit, credit card, or mobile payment option, and the Just Walk Out technology detects what they take from the shelves and charges their chosen payment option upon exit.

To ensure purchasing accuracy, Amazon has tested this technology by building synthetic datasets to simulate millions of shopping scenarios including different store formats, crowds of shoppers, and different lighting conditions.

Pick & Roll is located between Gates B and C and will be open for all main arena ticketed events at the Bryce Jordan Center, including men’s and women’s basketball games and upcoming concerts.
