Penn State Women’s Soccer Keeper Kat Asman Named Big Ten Goalkeeper Of The Week

Penn State women’s soccer graduate goalkeeper Kat Asman was named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. Asman’s recognition is the second time this year she’s earned the award.

Asman’s award comes after Penn State’s come-from-behind victory over Ohio State Sunday, where she recorded four saves and allowed one goal. Her performance moved her goal-allowed average to .422, putting her on top of the Big Ten. She also has the best save percentage in the conference at 0.886 and has the fewest goals let up with only five so far in the 2023 season.

Asman and the rest of the Nittany Lions will try to remain undefeated as they take on Purdue Thursday at 7 p.m. in West Lafayette, Indiana.
