Penn State Women’s Soccer’s Katherine Asman Named Big Ten Goalkeeper Of The Week

Twice as nice.

For the second straight week, Penn State women’s soccer goaltender Katherine Asman was named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week.

The Nittany Lions recorded two draws in their most recent week of play, including a scoreless tie against Purdue and a 2-2 comeback performance against Northwestern.

Between the posts, Asman recorded four saves against the Boilermakers and 11 against a stout Wildcat offense. Her season save percentage lands at 0.885, strengthening her career 0.792 save percentage with two games left in regular-season action.

Asman has given up just eight goals through 15 outings en route to the Nittany Lions’ 11-0-4 undefeated record and No. 4 national ranking.

Asman and the Nittany Lions will return to Happy Valley for their final two regular-season matchups against Indiana and Wisconsin at Jeffrey Field. Erica Dambach’s group will take on the Hoosiers at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, and the Badgers at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 22. Both battles can be streamed on BTN+.
