THON kicked off its fundraising events for the year with the annual THON 5K on Sunday. Participants, including students and families, shared a memorable day of fun while sprinting to the finish line or leisurely walking the route in good company.

Participants lined up at the starting line, eager to begin the 5K.

It was around 45 degrees in Happy Valley when the race began, but the colder temperatures didn’t stop THON supporters from hitting the pavement in the THON 5K.

Hundreds of supporters made their way to the east side of campus to cheer on friends, families, and other Penn Staters on their 3.1-mile journey.

Some runners even ran the route in their Halloween costumes.

As the first few runners made their way across the finish line, participants were relieved to complete the course and supporters were ecstatic to cheer on the finishers.

Another fantastic THON 5K is officially in the books. We dance in 116 days, Penn State!
