The Most Creative Cat Names From Centre County PAWS: Part Two
Last year, we took a dive into the Centre County PAWS website to find some of the quirkiest, most adorable cat names. Thankfully, those cats have all been adopted into their new loving homes, and we hope that they’re all doing well.
However, as is the life of an animal shelter, the rotation of cats never stops, and there are even more silly names belonging to cats available for adoption right now. So, we’re back for a part two.
Take note that there are dozens more cats and kittens (and even dogs!) waiting to be adopted at Centre County PAWS. These names are just unmatched.
Applesauce
I’ve actually had the absolute honor of meeting Applesauce. He’s super friendly and just as sweet as his namesake. If I hadn’t just adopted my own kitten weeks earlier, Applesauce would’ve come home with me. This little guy will need an attentive and caring home, as he has been diagnosed with Feline Leukemia Virus, but from my short experience with Applesauce, it’ll be hard to ever forget about this cutie.
Corn Dog
Corn Dog, despite his name, is not a dog. In this picture, though, it does seem like he’s doing his best impression of one — long and skinny. Corn Dog’s foster mom notes that he is a climber, so his potential adopter should be prepared for a bit of chaos.
Eins
Genius in disguise is what this name is. And no, it’s not short for Einstein. It just means “one” in German. Eins’ siblings? Zwei and Drei — two and three, of course. Don’t count this little guy out based on his name, though. Look how ferocious that stance is!
Ghost Story
Just in time for Halloween, this black cat named Ghost Story is the furthest thing from spooky. Still a young gal at only seven months old, Ghost Story is looking for a home where she can feel “safe and cherished.”
Gus Bus
Another black cat, Gus Bus is an outgoing young kitty who was found as a stray and brought into PAWS. Though he has been diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency, Gus Bus is clearly very active — so much so that he tends to get a little rough when he plays. He’ll surely be searching for an owner who can match that energy.
Lawn Mower
There are quite a few reasons for a kitten to get this name. Whether this little guy cleans up food like a lawn mower or purrs like one, he’s surely an adorable addition to any family. Lawn Mower also has a brother named Tractor available for adoption, if you’re interested in more heavy machinery.
Moira Rose
If you haven’t moved on from Schitt’s Creek, unlike the rest of the world, this kitty is perfect for you. Look at that poise and the air of “I’m-better-than-you” coming off of her. Exactly what you’d expect from a cat named Moira Rose, right?
Porter House (& Friends)
I’m obsessed. I want them all. Porter House is joined at PAWS by his siblings T-Bone, Ribeye, Filet Mignon, Sirloin, and Prime Rib. Notably snuggly and friendly with both humans and other cats, it would definitely not be a mis-steak to adopt Porter House or one of his brothers or sisters.
Bear’s Paw
Personally, I’m dying to know the origin story behind this name. Maybe because this cat is probably the size of a bear’s paw on his own? Or like a rabbit’s foot, a good luck charm? Either way, Bear’s Paw has a very solemn look in his eyes. I think he’s seen some stuff.
As many of these cats are living in foster homes during the week, be sure to check the Centre County PAWS website before visiting the shelter to see when your cat(s) of interest will be on site.
If you’re not currently capable of adopting but want to help out, PAWS is always accepting donations of various supplies via their Amazon wishlist or monetary donations.
