Penn State Field Hockey’s Sophia Gladieux Named Big Ten Offensive Player Of The Year

Penn State field hockey senior forward Sophia Gladieux was named the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Year Wednesday, following the conclusion of the regular season.

Gladieux was the conference’s 2022 Big Ten Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, too.

The Boyertown, Pennsylvania, native led the Big Ten with nine goals in conference play and is ranked No. 3 in the country with 20 goals this season.

Gladieux was most recently named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week for her recent outing against Iowa. Since collecting those awards, Gladieux registered another brace against Indiana in the team’s regular-season finale.

The forward was also named to the All-Big Ten first team alongside graduate midfielder Mackenzie Allessie. Meanwhile, Anouk Knuvers and Carly Gannon were named to the Big Ten’s second and third teams, respectively.

Gladieux and the Nittany Lions will continue their 2023 campaign into the postseason against Ohio State at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Folks can tune into the livestream on BTN+.
