Penn State Quarterback Drew Allar Named To The Davey O’Brien Award Class

Penn State football quarterback Drew Allar is officially a candidate for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award, the foundation announced Tuesday. The award is given annually to the nation’s top college quarterback.

Every year, 35 quarterbacks are nominated for the award. This year Allar is accompanied by multiple Big Ten quarterbacks including Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy, Ohio State’s Kyle McCord, and Maryland’s Taulia Tagovailoa.

Thus far into the season, Allar has completed 61.4% of his passes for 1,655 yards, 16 touchdowns, and one interception.

Fan voting for the semifinalists will continue until Friday, November 10. Voting is held on the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award’s Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages. The winner of the award will be announced on Friday, December 8.
