Nittany Lions In The NFL: Week 15 Roundup

As bowl season ramps up, the NFL season is winding down with just three weeks left of regular-season play. While Penn State gears up to head south to Atlanta for the Peach Bowl, plenty of Nittany Lions in the league performed well in week 15.

Though it was mostly a slow week for the once-Penn Staters, the Nittany Lion leaguers hit the turf and punched numbers into the stat books.

Jahan Dotson, Washington Commanders

Jahan Dotson registered a quiet outing in the Commanders’ 28-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams Sunday. The wide receiver tallied just one reception on one target for 12 yards. The reception earned Washington a first down, though the Commanders came up short and fell to 4-10.

Saquon Barkley, New York Giants

In the Giants’ profound 24-6 defeat by the New Orleans Saints, running back Saquon Barkley was minimized on the gridiron. Barkley recorded 14 rushing yards on nine carries and a long rush of four yards. He caught two targets for 23 receiving yards but couldn’t help the Giants overcome the Saints in New Orleans.

Despite a poor showing from the Giants, Barkley reeled in an unbelievable one-handed catch for a 17-yard gain.

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Chris Godwin had a monster Sunday and picked up 155 receiving yards in Tampa Bay’s 34-20 victory over Green Bay. Godwin was targeted 12 times and earned the Buccaneers’ eight first downs for his most targets and receiving yards recorded in 2023. The Middletown, Delaware, native has only recorded one touchdown this season, though.

Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys

Micah Parsons was held to just two assisted tackles in the Cowboys’ 21-point loss to the Buffalo Bills. It’s the third straight week Parsons had been held to two tackles and the first week this season the linebacker didn’t register a solo tackle. Parsons and the Cowboys will aim to get back on track against the Dolphins next Sunday in Miami.

Joey Porter Jr., Pittsburgh Steelers

In the Steelers’ 30-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Joey Porter Jr. posted three tackles, including two solo and one assisted tackle. He also defended one pass. Porter Jr. and the Steelers fell to .500 in 2023 after their loss to the Colts.

Nick Scott, Cincinnati Bengals

In a slow afternoon for Nick Scott, the safety picked up one solo tackle in the Bengals’ 27-24 overtime victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Following his week-15 performance, Scott has 55 total tackles in 2023 and one fumble recovery.

Allen Robinson, Pittsburgh Steelers

Wideout Allen Robinson earned 19 yards by way of three receptions on three targets in the Steelers’ 17-point loss to Indianapolis. Robinson’s stat lines have remained fairly consistent over the course of the season so far, and he’s averaging 8.1 receiving yards on a total of 44 targets in 2023.

Arnold Ebiketie, Atlanta Falcons

Arnold Ebiketie posted two tackles and half a stuff in the Atlanta Falcons’ low-scoring 9-7 loss to the Carolina Panthers. The 6-8 Falcons will return to action in a Christmas Eve battle against the Colts in week 16.
