Three-Star Linebacker Blake Betton Commits To Penn State Football

Class of 2027 three-star linebacker Blake Betton has committed to Penn State football, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

The Shakopee, Minnesota, native is the No. 4 player in the state, the No. 35 linebacker in the class, and the No. 417 player in the country, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings. Per the same site, Betton had 88 total tackles in 2025, two interceptions, four tackles-for-loss, and one fumble recovery.

Iowa State and Matt Campbell first offered Betton on May 16, 2025. He did not have a Penn State offer under the former coaching staff, but received one shortly after Campbell was hired. He has an official visit scheduled for June 19, 2026. He is Penn State’s sixth commit in the 2027 recruiting class and first linebacker.

The 6’2″, 200-pounder chose Penn State over Auburn, Michigan State, and Boston College. To see what the newest linebacker commit can bring to Happy Valley, check out his highlights here.
