Penn State Football Adds Defensive Coordinator Tom Allen’s Son To Analyst Position
Penn State football added Thomas Allen to its staff directory Thursday. Allen, the son of defensive coordinator Tom Allen, will serve in a defensive analyst capacity under his father. He’s also listed as an analytics coordinator in the team’s staff directory.
Allen was previously a graduate assistant in Bloomington before his father’s firing.
During his time as a Hoosier, Allen tallied 32 appearances across four years at linebacker from 2018 to 2021. He registered 36 solo tackles, one interception, and a forced fumble during his career.
In his redshirt senior year, the Tampa, Florida, native recorded one solo tackle and two assisted tackles. He broke out in 2018 with 28 total tackles, 20 of which were solo.
Allen was awarded Indiana’s Ted Verilhay “Mental Attitude” Award in 2021, along with the Hoosiers’ Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
