Four-Star Wide Receiver Julian Fleming Transfers To Penn State Football

Four-star wide receiver Julian Fleming has committed to transfer to Penn State football, he announced Wednesday. Fleming, a former Ohio State wideout, is the second transfer commit for the Nittany Lions after Tulsa kicker Chase Meyer.

Fleming is rated as the No. 6 wide receiver and the 32nd-best player overall in the transfer portal. He left Ohio State after a three-year tenure with 73 catches, 963 yards, and seven touchdowns. In the last year, he made 26 catches for 270 yards without a visit to the end zone.

A Pennsylvania native, Fleming was one of the top recruits of the recruiting Class of 2020. His recruitment was largely between Penn State and Ohio State. He was the best wide receiver in the country, the best player in Pennsylvania, and the third-best player overall in the nation, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Fleming’s pickup is important for the Nittany Lions, who have been looking for a wide receiver out of the portal. Top targets Deion Burks and Ja’Mori Maclin committed to other programs while Penn State is working to develop an already underperforming wide receiver room.
