Penn State Women’s Lacrosse Ranked No. 14 In USA Lacrosse Preseason Top-20 Poll

Penn State women’s lacrosse is just over a month away.

Ahead of the 2024 season, the Nittany Lions earned a No. 14 ranking in the USA Lacrosse Top-20 Preseason Poll, the organization announced Wednesday.

In this poll, the Nittany Lions are the fourth-ranked team in the Big Ten, behind Northwestern (No. 1), Maryland (No. 6), and Johns Hopkins (No. 11). The Nittany Lions are notably ahead of Michigan, Princeton, and Virginia.

Last season, Penn State finished with a record of 11-7 and finished fourth in the Big Ten with a 3-3 record. The season ended abruptly when the group fell in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament to Michigan and again in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to No. 10 Stony Brook.

Missy Doherty’s squad will travel to Bucknell on Tuesday, February 13, to begin up the season. Opening face-off is set for 4 p.m.
