Penn State Baseball Releases 2024 Schedule

Baseball season is nearly back, folks!

Penn State baseball released its 54-game schedule for the 2024 season Tuesday morning with a wide range of opponents from all over the country.

The Nittany Lions will open their season in Cary, North Carolina, when they take on Monmouth and Army playing from February 16 to 18. Penn State will also travel out west for a three-game series from February 23 to 25 against No. 12 Stanford.

Penn State will also have a four-game series against the Davidson Wildcats from March 1 to 3 and will travel to Charlottesville for a single-game matchup with No. 10 Virginia. The Nittany Lions will finish their season-opening road trip with another trip to Cary and a three-game series against Harvard. Penn State will return to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park to begin its home slate against UMass Lowell from March 15 to 17.

The squad will get its first taste of Big Ten action on Friday, March 22, when it begins a series at home against Michigan. The Nittany Lions will also take on Northwestern, Minnesota, and Rutgers at home, while Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State, and Maryland will all be road series.

Penn State will also play one home and away game against rivals Pitt and West Virginia, however, it has yet to be announced if the away game against Pitt will be a return to PNC Park.

It was a rough 2023 for the Nittany Lions who went 25-25, culminating in former head coach Rob Cooper’s resignation after 10 seasons.

Now under the leadership of Mike Gambino, the former Golden Eagles coach will attempt to reinvigorate the Nittany Lion squad as it prepares for the expansion of the Big Ten conference next season and moving forward.
