Three-Star Cornerback Jalen Kimber Flips To Penn State Football

Three-star cornerback Jalen Kimber has transferred to Penn State football, he announced Thursday. Kimber originally committed to Louisville on December 30 but flipped to the Nittany Lions 12 days later.

“Throughout this journey, I’ve learned a lot about myself and the importance of a school that aligns with my academic and athletic needs,” Kimber wrote on Twitter. “With this in mind, I have decided to recommit from the University of Louisville, a program I truly appreciate and respect, and which I believe is set for success in 2024. With gratitude for this opportunity, I am excited to announce that I will complete my final season of college football at Pennsylvania State University.”

Kimber’s had multiple stops in his college career. The Arlington, Texas, native started at Georgia as a four-star prospect, where he was redshirted for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Kimber transferred to Florida after the 2021 season, compiling 36 total tackles, one interception, and one fumble recovery over the 2022 and 2023 seasons. He entered the transfer portal again and committed to Louisville on December 30, but he re-entered the portal for the third time.

The 6’0,” 185-pound redshirt senior comes into a wide-open cornerback room, though four-star cornerback A.J. Harris is reported to have committed to Penn State Thursday, too.

Kalen King and Daequan Hardy both declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, while Johnny Dixon’s future is uncertain. Kimber will have to compete with highly touted prospects such as Zion Tracy, Elliot Washington II, and Harris, among others, for playing time.
