Penn State Women’s Lacrosse Midfielder Kristin O’Neill Named USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American

Penn State women’s lacrosse two-time team captain Kristin O’Neill was named a preseason All-American by USA Lacrosse, the team announced Wednesday. O’Neill, who was named a Third Team All-American, was the only Nittany Lion to receive such an honor.

The senior started all 18 games for the Nittany Lions last season where she recorded a goal in every game and finished the season with 51 goals and 59 points. O’Neill helped lead Penn State to its 26th NCAA Tournament appearance and to an 11-7 record.

In 2023, O’Neill was named a USA Lacrosse Third Team All-American, she was on the All-Big Ten first team, the All-Regional first-team, and she earned an Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association’s All-American honorable mention.

O’Neill is also ranked No. 35 in Inside Lacorsse’s Top 50 Women’s Players for 2024.

The Nittany Lions open the 2024 season ranked No.14 in the USA Lacrosse’s Preseason Poll and will begin the season on the road against James Madison at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 3.
