[Photo Story] Nighttime On Penn State’s Campus
Good night, Penn State.
During the day, campus is bustling. As the sun shines down on Penn State, students hustle from one class to another. However, when the sun sets and students go home, a dark tranquility covers Happy Valley.
Campus can be very peaceful at night, so to show the deserted magic, our photographers set out to capture what nighttime is like at Dear Old State. Here are some of our favorite photos.
We’ll start our evening tour downtown, where most of the nighttime activity is.
As we move up into the western end of campus, there are fewer and fewer people out and about.
The roads jam-packed by daylight are deserted by nightfall and illuminated by streetlight.
At Old Main, the light from the bell tower illuminates an otherwise dark lawn.
The HUB’s Pollock Road door is unmistakably shut in contrast to the day’s never-ending stream of students entering and exiting the building.
Most of the campus buildings are completely dark.
The only illuminated part of Beaver Stadium is the glistening Penn State Athletics logo.
Sleep tight, Happy Valley.
