Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Stars TJ Malone & Jack Fracyon Named To Tewaaraton Watch List

Penn State men’s lacrosse’s TJ Malone and Jack Fracyon were named to the Tewaaraton Award watch list, the program announced on Wednesday. The Tewaaraton Award is given annually to the top men’s and women’s players in college lacrosse.

Malone was a top-25 Tewaaraton Award finalist last season, after a career season with accolades including Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Big Ten, and spots on the All-American team for USILA, Inside Lacrosse, and USA Lacrosse Magazine.

The graduate student also recorded 73 points off 39 goals and 34 assists last year, totaling 110 goals over his 52 games for the Nittany Lions. With only two games played this season, the attacker has already reached 13 points, tallying four goals and nine assists.

This is Fracyon’s first time on the watch list after he led the Big Ten in goals against and save percentage over the last regular season. The goalie allowed just 10.89 goals per game, stopping 13.88 shots per game for 222 on the season.

The junior was also named Big Ten Specialist of the Year and named to the All-Big Ten First Team, alongside USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse Second-Team All-American.

Penn State returns to action on the road against Stony Brook at noon on Saturday, February 17.
