Penn State Men’s Volleyball Remains At No. 9 In AVCA Poll, Toby Ezeonu Named EIVA Offensive Player Of The Week

Penn State men’s volleyball stays at No. 9 for the third consecutive week in the latest AVCA poll, released Monday evening. The Nittany Lions swept No. 15 Princeton in this past weekend’s series.

Penn State is currently on a three-game winning streak and won its 30th-straight EIVA conference regular season match. With two conference victories, the Nittany Lions sit atop the EIVA standings.

Toby Ezeonu also earned EIVA Offensive Player of the Week honors with his performance against the Tigers. Ezeonu hit .636 and had 16 kills over the two games including hitting .846 in Friday night’s matchup. The 6’7″ middle blocker averaged 2.29 kills, 1.14 aces, and 1.00 blocks per set over the series as well.

This is Ezeonu’s second weekly honor as he won Defensive Player of the Week in his performances over No. 1 Ohio State earlier this season.

Ezeonu and the Nittany Lions return home and continue EVIA play against NJIT at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, in Rec Hall. The game will be streamed on BTN+.
