[Photo Story] Penn State Football Shows Off Strength In Max-Out Session
Pump those weights, Nittany Lions!
On the final day of Penn State football’s winter workouts, the team hit the weight room for a max-out lifting session. With spring break looming, returning players and newcomers flexed their muscles in the Lasch Building.
Our photographers were there to watch the Nittany Lions show off their strength.
Starting off strong, Nick Singleton was the most impressive of the crew. With a 570-pound squat for two reps, RB1 walked away like it was nothing.
Next up, defensive end Abdul Carter showcased an ~easy~ 475-pound squat.
Two weeks ago, Carter switched from linebacker to defensive end.
Meanwhile, James Franklin observed the Nittany Lions maxing out on the last day of winter workouts.
Incoming offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki shared a laugh with safeties coach Anthony Poindexter amid the exciting afternoon squats.
When quarterback Drew Allar first got on the rack, he only completed one squat, but he later returned to confidently finish five reps.
Maxing out isn’t easy, displaying several gritty, funny faces and red eyes from redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Kaleb Artis.
Penn State’s strength coach Chuck Losey was impressed by his crew during winter workouts.
“We’ve set a good foundation going into spring ball, so I’m really happy with it,” Losey said.
The Nittany Lions will be back in action for spring workouts soon.
