Report: Lady Lion Guard Shay Ciezki Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State women’s basketball guard Shay Ciezki has entered the transfer portal, according to Talia Goodman. Ciezki spent two years with Penn State, emerging as a star during her freshman year but hit a slump during the end of her sophomore campaign with the Lady Lions.

Ciezki was Penn State’s top option at guard during her two seasons in Happy Valley. As a freshman, she started in 29 games and was one of the best three-point shooters in the Big Ten, finishing second in three-point percentage.

Ciezki began her sophomore season strong but struggled to maintain her performance through the end of the season. She didn’t start in Penn State’s final two games after being benched in the WBIT. She finished the 2023-24 season with 404 points, 83 assists, and 35 steals across 35 appearances.

Ciezki was among the first reported Lady Lions to hit the transfer portal alongside Ali Brigham. Penn State’s program is known for being transfer-heavy with a slew of players coming and leaving each season via the portal.
