RBU.

Class of 2025 four-star running back Alvin Henderson has committed to Penn State football, he announced on YouTube on Thursday. Henderson is the top-rated commit to the Nittany Lions this cycle and one of the nation’s top running backs.

A native of Elba, Alabama, Henderson is rated as the No. 8 running back in the country and the No. 10 overall player in his home state, per the 247Sports Composite. As the No. 94 player in the country, Henderson is the top-rated Nittany Lion commit from the 2025 recruiting cycle.

At 5’9″ and 200 pounds, Henderson had one of the best numbers for any high school running back of his class last season. During his junior season playing varsity football for Elba High School, Henderson rushed 225 times for 3,523 yards and 61 touchdowns, per MaxPreps.

Henderson received offers from 84 schools, the most in the nation, per On3. His recruitment largely came down to Penn State and Auburn, though Miami, Oregon, and Florida State were also in the mix.

Henderson took visits to Penn State and Auburn toward the end of his recruitment, coming to Happy Valley in early April. He is also scheduled to take an official visit to Penn State from May 31 to June 2.
