[Photo Story] Penn State Hoops’ 2023-24 Season

The first year of the Mike Rhoades era is officially over.

While Penn State men’s basketball failed to qualify for March Madness or the NIT, many fans are optimistic about the program heading into next season, especially with the team’s top-25 incoming recruiting class.

As always, our photographers captured all the action from the floor of the Bryce Jordan Center and beyond. Let’s look back at some of our favorite photos from the season.

In Rhoades’ first go around leading the blue and white after time spent at VCU and Rice, the Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, native registered a 16-17 record with a completely new roster of Nittany Lions.

Some faces joined Rhoades from VCU or previous recruiting stints while others returned to their home state to close their collegiate careers.

Penn State had to play a physical style of basketball this season.

Points were scored in the paint…

…and beyond the arc.

The Nittany Lions converted 255 three-pointers across the season and ranked sixth in the Big Ten in total offense on the back of 2,478 total points scored.

And when those shots sunk, there were sure to be some celebrations.

Whether in Happy Valley or beyond, fans were always out to support the Nittany Lions.

The blue and white made its return to The Palestra for the second straight year and hooped in the Cathedral of College Basketball along with a homecoming to Rec Hall.

This season, Penn State fans even got to rush two courts. Postseason or not, it was a pretty good year.
