Former Penn State Men’s Hockey Forward Ryan Kirwan Transfers To Arizona State
Penn State men’s hockey forward Ryan Kirwan found a new home after entering the transfer portal following the 2023-24 season.
The senior will head to the desert to play at Arizona State, the team announced. Kirwan spent his first three years of eligibility in Happy Valley.
During his time at Penn State, Kirwan was a stalwart in the lineup for Guy Gadowsky. The forward appeared in 100 games, in which he amassed 34 goals and 69 points. Kirwan was a member of the 2022-23 team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament regional final in Allentown.
He will join an Arizona State squad that announced the addition of five other transfers from around college hockey since the end of the season. The Sun Devils are coming off an outstanding season in which they were 24-8-6.
The announcement of Kirwan leaving is the second official departure for Penn State players who had entered the transfer portal. Dylan Gratton, who transferred to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, was the first.
