[Photo Story] Penn State Homecoming Hosts Legacy 2024
Every year, Penn State Homecoming organizes “Legacy,” a day to commemorate the accomplishments and contributions of graduating seniors, while also shining light on the efforts of underclassmen as they strive to create a legacy of their own.
This year, Legacy was brought to the HUB with the intention of being a “blast from the past.”
Held at the main entrance of the HUB, Legacy 2024 had a slew of booths set up, each aiming to bring back a different childhood memory. Our photographers were there to capture the event and celebrate the graduating Class of 2024.
Balloon and caricature artists brought back memories of childhood birthdays and fairs.
Food options included popcorn, cotton candy, cookies, and lemonade — the true staples of anyone’s childhood.
With stuffed animals and custom signs, Legacy 2024 had something for everyone.
Legacy continued to celebrate the achievements of seniors with a wall detailing the massive changes brought about in the last four years, including another wall for underclassmen to leave their own legacy. These notes went up on a wall for everyone to see, as a promise to the university, their fellow students, and themselves.
Legacy also hosted a number of student and university-run organizations, including the Student Programming Association (SPA), the Gender Equity Center, and the Blue and White Society. Each organization brought something new to the event while explaining how they contribute to the ever-changing nature of Penn State.
