Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Placed No. 7 In NCAA Committee Rankings
Penn State men’s lacrosse was rated as the No. 7 team in the country by the NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse committee, the committee announced Saturday. The rankings accounted for all games through Friday, April 19, as teams prepare for conference tournaments.
The Nittany Lions are one of three Big Ten teams ranked by the committee, falling behind No. 3 Johns Hopkins and No. 6 Maryland.
Penn State most recently defeated Rutgers 15-9 to secure the third seed in the Big Ten Tournament, which will begin with the quarterfinals on Saturday, April 27. The Nittany Lions will host their first game, hosting either Rutgers, Ohio State, or Michigan.
The NCAA Tournament is comprised of 17 teams, featuring one play-in game and four rounds. Last year, the No. 5 seed Nittany Lions reached the semifinals of the tournament, falling to Duke on a controversial officiating decision.
