Penn State Women’s Lacrosse To Face James Madison In First Round Of NCAA Tournament
Penn State women’s lacrosse will face James Madison on Friday, May 10, on Maryland’s campus. The Nittany Lions received an at-large bid after finishing the season 11-7.
Penn State fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2023 to Stony Brook but will have another chance to make a run this year. In the regular season, the Nittany Lions placed second in the Big Ten going 4-2, including wins against No. 1 Northwestern, No. 11 Maryland, and No. 12 Johns Hopkins.
Penn State boasts five All-Big Ten selections. Kristin O’Neill and Ellie Hollin led the charge being named to the first team. Kayla Abernathy, Sammy Dupack, and Gretchen Gilmore also received recognition with All-Big Ten Second Team selections.
James Madison went 13-5 with a 5-1 record in the American Athletic Conference. It knocked off then-No. 3 North Carolina to start the season and finished just short of winning a conference title, falling to top-seeded Florida.
