Class Of 2025 Tight End Matt Henderson Commits To Penn State Football

Another tight end is coming to Happy Valley.

Class of 2025 tight end Matt Henderson has committed to Penn State football, he announced Wednesday evening. Despite being unrated by major recruiting websites, Henderson was also recruited by Michigan State, Pitt, Maryland, Syracuse, and others.

The 6’5″, 210-pound native of Powhatan, Virginia, became the 13th player to commit to the program’s Class of 2025, which is currently ranked No. 9 in the nation, according to 247Sports. Henderson joined four-star Brady O’Hara as the second tight end to join the class. The group is headlined by four-stars DJ McClary and Alvin Henderson.

Henderson plays for Powhatan High School and has spent two years with the school’s varsity team. Last season, he caught 74 passes for 1,114 yards and 14 touchdowns, per his MaxPreps profile.

While he plays both tight end and wide receiver, Henderson seems set to play tight end for Penn State. He tagged tight end coach Ty Howle in a tweet announcing his offer from Penn State.
