Three Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Players Claimed By PLL Teams
Penn State men’s lacrosse players Grant Haus, Jack Posey, and Mac Costin were claimed by teams in the Premier Lacrosse League, the team announced Friday morning.
Haus, a defensive midfielder who was recently tabbed as a third-team All-American, was claimed by the Maryland Whipsnakes, where he’ll join Penn State teammate and No. 17 overall pick TJ Malone. Haus has scooped 25 ground balls and caused three turnovers this season.
Carolina Chaos claimed Posey, a defenseman who’s been with Penn State for five years. In his senior season, Posey forced 11 turnovers while scooping 25 ground balls. This year, he’s seen action in just six games due to an injury. Posey will join former Penn State goalie Austin Kaut on the Chaos.
Costin was claimed by the Denver Outlaws after scoring a career-high 30 goals this season, which ranks third on Penn State. The fifth-year midfielder also has a career-high shooting percentage this year with a mark of .316.
Before turning pro, the Nittany Lions hope to extend their season when they face Georgetown at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
