Former Penn State Hoops Forward Leo O’Boyle Signs With Newcastle Falcons

Former Penn State men’s basketball player Leo O’Boyle signed with the Newcastle Falcons of the NBL1, the team announced Tuesday.

O’Boyle graduated from Penn State in 2024 after one year with the Nittany Lions in which he averaged two points per game in 33 appearances.

Prior to playing for the Nittany Lions, the 6’7″ forward played four years at Lafayette College, where he steadily improved his scoring averages each year, dropping 11.6 points per game in his senior season.

The Newcastle Falcons compete in the East Division of the NBL1, an Australian league run by the NBL. Newcastle currently sits at No. 11 in the division with a 4-6 record.
