Penn State Softball Pitcher Bridget Nemeth Named Freshmen All-American

Penn State softball pitcher Bridget Nemeth has been named to Freshmen All-American teams by D1Softball and Softball America. Nemeth’s honors came after the conclusion of the Nittany Lions’ season in their first NCAA Regionals berth in over a decade.

Previously, Nemeth was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year after her standout campaign gave the Nittany Lions one of their best seasons in recent memory. Her record of 23-7, the most wins in a season by a Penn State pitcher in program history, was the best in the conference and 15th-best nationally.

Nemeth pitched in 210 innings and logged 202 strikeouts, along with a 4.12 strikeout-to-walk ratio. She appeared in all three of the Nittany Lions’ NCAA Regionals matchups, rounding out a season of 40 appearances and 25 starts.
